The Grind whose registered office is at No 75 Gloucester Street, Chester, Cheshire, CH1 3HR England has created this privacy statement because we take your privacy seriously.  The statement sets out, who we are, what information we collect from you, and how we use it.

General

The Grind is a company that provides career advice and job support information and services to people and business including publishing services for its clients.  The Grind collects personal information about you during your use of our website and services and through our cookie technology as you use and navigate our websites. 

If you provide us with personal information (your name, postal address, telephone, fax, or email address), or have done so in the past, via our websites, our publications or surveys, we may use that information to send you updates on our latest services and promotions or to contact you so that we may learn more about our customers.

We may use your data to collate and create an information database of visitors to our website in order to improve our website and our service and to provide relevant services and information to you.  We may also share any aggregated information, but not individual data, with third parties which offer their goods or services on our websites to help them better understand our services and monitor their advertising reach on the sites.

Information you supply in transactions

If you have supplied us with personal and financial information, (such as your credit card or bank details) in a transaction with us, we may use this information in the normal conduct of our business relationship with you.

This information will be used to support your account and also to inform you about new products and services that we provide or to provide details of third parties that we believe may be of interest to you.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used.  This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website and services in order to tailor it to customer needs.  We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website and service, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not.  A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

Controlling your personal information & Opt Out

Protection of your personal information

We are concerned about guarding the security of your personal information and the details of any transactions.  We take appropriate organisational and technical security measures to protect your data against unauthorised disclosure or processing. We use a secure server to store the information you give us when you register or make an order (including your credit card details and any password) and any personal data you send us on-line is securely encrypted.

Use of third party services

We may partner with and use various third party software and services, including analytics services, to help understand your usage of our products and services. In particular, we provide a limited amount of your information (such as your email address and sign-up date) to select third party services to collect data for analytics purposes when you visit our website or use our products and services. This allows The Grind to monitor your use of our website, products and services and tracks our relationship so that we can improve our service to you. We may also use these third party services for communications, either through email, or through messages within our products and services. As part of our service agreements, these third party services may collect publicly available contact and social information related to you, such as your name, email address, gender, company, job title, photos, website URLs, social network handles and physical addresses, to enhance your user experience.

Cross-border data transfers

The Grind complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union to the United States. The Grind has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. The Grind has further committed to refer unresolved Privacy Shield complaints to JAMS, an alternative dispute resolution provider located in the United States with offices in London (70 Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 1EU). If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint from us, or if we have not addressed your complaint to your satisfaction, please use the JAMS complaint form found here. The services of JAMS are provided at no cost to you. As the exclusive means of resolving through adversarial dispute resolution any disputes arising out of this Privacy Statement, a party may demand that any such dispute be resolved by arbitration administered by JAMS. Judgment on the award rendered in any such arbitration may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. As a last resort, privacy complaints that remain unresolved after pursuing these and other channels may be subject to binding arbitration before the Privacy Shield Panel as described in the Privacy Shield Agreement, Annex I, to be created jointly by the US Department of Commerce and the European Commission.

Individuals have the right to access their personal data as well as have the choice to limit the use and disclosure of their personal data.
